Bekah was born in Cache Valley but moved to Iowa when she was little. She grew up on a small acreage and loved having space to roam and animals to take care of. After high school, Bekah went on a mission for her church to Brazil and then returned to Cache Valley to attend Utah State.
Kaylie grew up in the suburbs of Salt Lake City but always dreamed of a simpler life—one filled with kids, animals, and a huge garden. (As her mom likes to say, she was meant to live on a farm.) After high school, she attended Utah State University on a track scholarship and quickly fell in love with Cache Valley. That’s where our stories first came together.

Kaylie & Bekah, Circa 2016
We were randomly assigned to be roommates—same home, different rooms—for the 2015–2016 school year. Over the course of that year, we bonded over boys, church and Sunday dinners. Fast forward a few years, through weddings and graduations, and we found ourselves pregnant with our first babies at the same time. E & M were born just six months apart, and we were convinced they’d grow up to be best friends. (For the record, we didn’t plan for them to have their wedding to each other and lives together planned by the ages of 6 haha).
Eighteen months later, along came C & S—also six months apart—and the friendship between our families was officially sealed. Through playdates, homemade meals, more babies and acts of service, our friendship grew into something more like family.
Over time, we went from living five minutes apart to forty-five. But what stayed the same was our shared love for gardening, sourdough, homeschooling, canning, baking, and raising our families with intention. We cared deeply about what we were feeding our kids—both physically and mentally—and that passion slowly became something more.
Mayflour Co. was born when Kaylie, newly a single mom, began looking for ways to support her family from home. What started as shared values turned into a growing homesteading-inspired business, built on community, simple living, and really great food.
We’re so grateful you’re here. Whether you’re looking for recipes, handmade goods, or just a little inspiration for your own journey, we hope Mayflour Co. feels like home.
